Dragonsoft Studios Site History --------------------------------------------------- Site Version 2 - 04/02/2011 to 06/28/2011 --------------------------------------------------- ---------------- :: April 2011 :: ---------------- 04/02/2011 - Whew, quite a bit of work to get the site updated this time, and quite a bit to talk about o.o;; Okay, so first things first, HughesNet is being derpier than usual lately. During the day, we get stuck at speeds worse than dialup, like we went over our bandwidth, and constantly. However, it doesn't show that we did. During my free bandwidth period, it goes back to normal. Yet AIM and Skype work perfectly fine no matter what. This all started the day after we had a major wind and hail storm. Our theory is it knocked the dish out of alignment, but calling their tech support, they refused to even acknowledge that possibility, ran us around in circles for two hours trying to say the problem was with our computer, and then hung up on us. Our systems work fine via dialup, the HughesNet status screen shows we only have 65% signal strength, but it's not their fault... riiiiiiiiiiiiight.... So what does this mean precisely? Essentially, it's harder for me to reply to comments on my channel right now, and harder for me to keep up with the forums. Great fun, that. However, I can still be on Skype, so I'll be joining in on the weekend broadcasts, I just won't be able to be in the chat room. When this will get fixed, I haven't the foggiest, but hopefully sooner rather than later. Oh, and on the subject of Skype, I still have people that keep sending me contact requests on Skype. Please, don't do that. I'm not on Skype all the time, so the only reason I usually go on there is to talk with my close circle of friends, and that's pretty much it. Okay, next topic : Cancellations, fact or fiction?! This is why I reeeeeeally don't like April Fools' Day. Two big cancellations are being talked about currently for games that I'd have at least some interest in.   First up, we have Mega Man Universe. It was theorized that this might be an April Fools' joke, but it seems like more than one source is saying it was cancelled. If it was, to be honest, I don't mind too much. I wasn't that enthusiastic about it. It was basically, after all, just a rehash of Mega Man 2, which is probably my least favorite in the series, and it lacked any of the charm Mega Man Powered Up had. Now MMPU2, I'd have liked to have seen that. However, short of that, I'd rather see Mega Man 11 than another rehash. The other game is Samurai Warriors 3 : Xtreme Legends. Those that know the Warriors series know that most of the games have an Xtreme Legends expansion, which adds new material to the game. However, a report was made on KoeiWarriors, stating that SW3:XL was cancelled for overseas release. However, this one has something strange about it : KoeiWarriors was the ONLY site seemingly to report this. I suppose it's possible that it was cancelled and it was just really weird timing that this was announced on April Fools', but we'll have to see. Again, this is the sort of reason why I really hate April Fools'... Okay, so with all that out of the way, on to updates! - 12 new images have been added to the Fan Art gallery. My thanks to everyone who sent in new work! - The Library has been updated with my newly purchased copy of Dynasty Warriors 7. - The Projects page has been updated, now that Secret of Mana is well and truly finished, and I'm working on the MMBN2 extras. The upcoming projects list has also been added to. - The Polls page has been updated, as I've gone ahead and closed the currently running poll. The results seemed obvious that they weren't going to change, so the winner is indeed Metroid. - A little difficult to tell with how long this update is, but the Archives page is now home to all the 1st quarter updates from 2011. Whew... Long update is looooooooooooooooooooooooong... 04/09/2011 - And still, the internet derps. Yes, HughesNet is still going slow during the day for me. Strangely, on Thursday, it went at normal speed, so I thought it was fixed. Such is evidently not the case. I am starting work on the BN2 extras, so I am working on them. Please do not ask about them. As with any project of mine, they'll be done when they're done, and that's the best answer I can give. 10 new images were added to the Fan Art gallery. My thanks to everyone who sent in work! And now, back to grinding on the Elite Four. Getting so close to 100... 04/17/2011 - A day late with updates, due to last night being spent attempting to fix my DS Lite. Sooooo close.... and then the ribbon cable tore apart. Thus, we're having to wait for a replacement to get here to try again. So as followers of my channel know, the MMBN2 extras have been officially cancelled. I just really had no feeling of motivation while trying to work on them, and I'd rather start a new main project I'm excited for rather than doing just extra material that I didn't have my full heart into. Thus, this Monday I'll be starting to record Megaman Network Transmission. I've also finished training my first set of 5th gen Pokémon. Progress! The Projects page has been updated with the new info, and seven new images have been uploaded to the Fan Art gallery. As usual, some new images have been uploaded from time to time in my own gallery as well. 04/23/2011 - This has been a fairly decent week all around. The main good news on my end is I finally got my DS Lite fixed! WOO! Now I can finally transfer all my old Lv 100s from 4th gen to 5th. I also finally got Megaman Network Transmission started on my video channel. I've updated the Library page, basically just cleaning up the "want to play, can't afford" list, including adding another entry there. Everything seems to want to taunt me with Portal 2 lately, but science is out of my budget. I've also added 10 new images to the Fan Art gallery. My thanks to everyone who sent in new work! 04/30/2011 - It's been a pretty productive week! Not only has Megaman Network Transmission been going pretty well, but I've also been making a lot of progress on the secret project. I've also made some decent headway on my trip through Pokémon White. I'm currently in Nimbasa, though there will be a slight holdup whilst I work on breeding my final team member. I've also been rather distracted by the downloadable chapters for Alan Wake. Man I'm glad a sequel is already in the works, that is a very fun, satisfying game. I'd highly recommend it. So as for updates, first up, the Library page was updated, thanks to Kit sending me an XBox Live points card. With that, I was able to get the second downloadable Alan Wake chapter, as well as Pac Man Championship Edition DX. That is well and truly gaming crack, very addicting, and oh so shiny. The colors, Duke, the colors!... I wonder if anyone will get that reference... Also, 17 new images have been added to the Fan Art gallery. My thanks to everyone! -------------- :: May 2011 :: -------------- 05/07/2011 - It's been a good week! The first pack of DLC for Dynasty Warriors 7 was released. It's not perfect, but it's still quite fun. The Bomb weapon is every bit as satisfying as I imagined. I also am nearing the end of my trip through Pokémon White, it's time to fight the Elite Four, and then I can finally get my own Zekrom. Yay! So on to updates! 13 new images have been added to the Fan Art gallery. My thanks to everyone for sending in new work. My thanks also to Shagg, who gifted me a Virtual Console copy of Bomberman Hero. That looked like quite a fun game when he LPed it, so I'm quite happy to have that. 05/14/2011 - I'm so close.... sooooooo close.... I'm missing only a few achievements at this point for Alan Wake... The main one I'm working on right now, Hypercaffeinated... I just need one more coffee thermos. Just ONE out of ONE HUNDRED... AGGGGGH WHERE IS THE BLASTED THING?!! In other news, my mum ordered me a copy of Viva Pińata, so I should have a happy new colorful collectathon soon. I am happy! 5 new pieces of fan art have been added to the gallery. My thanks to everyone who sent in new work! Now back to the hunt... FOLGERS, I WILL OWN YOU!!! 05/21/2011 - So for those wondering, CoffeeQuest is officially over. I now have all the achievements from Alan Wake. 1500 GP for me! That is a very fun game, and makes me very happy that there's talk of a sequel. For now, I'm on to messing with Silent Hill Homecoming, going after that game's achievements. It's not my favorite game in the SH series, but it's still decently playable. Another "for those wondering" thing, I've been working on the secret project along with my recording of Megaman Network Transmission, so that too is progressing. It's still at a "gathering raw footage" point, but it is in progress. Two new images have been added to the Fan Art gallery. Meanwhile, I'm having to wait a bit longer for my copy of Viva Pińata. The trouble is the guy that sent it wasn't aware that the info he posted for the game was incorrect. I ended up with a PC version of the game, and no way my system could handle that. Thus, having to wait on a second order. Dangit, I want that Bunnycomb, it's adorable... 05/29/2011 - For those who didn't see the announcement on my channel, an explanation as to why my update is a day late. Last night was.... frustrating to say the least. HughesNet decided to do one of those "fake charge" things on our usage chart, showing 80 MB being downloaded during a period where no one was even doing ANYTHING online. Thus, our bandwidth went over an hour before the free period, meaning our speed wasn't going to go back to normal basically until TONIGHT'S free period. Thus, I knew I wouldn't be able to join in on Pink's broadcast, and after that, I also watched some videos about Silent Hill, some plot analysis which started interesting, providing a different view of events from what I personally think happened in the series, but it was still interesting to hear. However, as it went on, they started getting more and more annoying, going as far as to say people who enjoyed certain games in the series were retarded. As much as I hate Mega Man X, I would never call anyone stupid for liking it, thus that hit a sour note with me. I'm sure they did it in jest, but the way I was feeling last night, it just aggravated me to a point where I simply didn't feel like messing with site updates. Today however was a better day. While I was sleeping, my uncle had bought a reset token for our connection, thus I was indeed able to join in on the broadcast and had fun with it. Being isolated as I am, the ability to talk with my friends and hear their voices really means a lot to me. In more positive news, the Library has been updated as I finally got my hands on Viva Pińata, just like I always wanted! The best advertisement I can give this game is that I usually don't like sandbox type games, but this one is really quite fun, employing strategies to attract new breeds and fill the encyclopedia, it's quite fun. I even finally got that adorable little Bunnycomb I wanted! So cute! In addition, 8 new images have been added to the Fan Art Gallery. My thanks to everyone who sent in work! --------------- :: June 2011 :: --------------- 06/04/2011 - Whew... this has been a rather trying week. A lot of it has come from some depression toward the end of the week. My mum's cat managed to get out of the house, and we haven't had any luck finding him as of yet. If my updates are a little sporadic right now, this is why, a bit of a downer on my feelings as far as making videos is concerned. I hate seeing my mum so upset, so of course that tends to carry over to my mood. I'm certainly not stopping making vids, I just need to get into a bit of a better state of mind. In working to get my mind off things, I've been playing Dead Rising, trying to get some of the achievements. The last one I got was Gourmet, for eating all the different kinds of food in the mall... Rotten meat, yum yum... I also finished training up another six Pokémon, so I'm working on getting the next set together. Ten new images have been added to the Fan Art gallery. As always, my thanks to everyone who sent in new work, it is always appreciated. 06/11/2011 - Things have been a little hectic this week, hence my lack of getting much done. A lot of this came down on attempts to record a bit of the secret project, so yeah, that's going to be something when I get to editing that particular part ^_^;; As far as Network Transmission is concerned, I'm actually ready to record more of that, which I'll likely be doing on Sunday, given tomorrow is one of Pink's broadcast days. Sadly, we still have not located my mum's cat. We're doing our best to hold out hope on this one, I can only hope he shows up soon, or at least has been taken in by a nice family if nothing else. Four new images have been added to the Fan Art gallery. As ever, my thanks to those who sent in new work. Here's hoping I can get the current project done this week, no reason I shouldn't be able to, I mean, I'm pretty much right at the end o.o; 06/18/2011 - For the most part, it's been a fairly quiet week. Something I'm admittedly thankful for. However, it hasn't been without progress. I finally managed to finish my LP of Megaman Network Transmission, so at least that's done. I'm currently on break thus, though I will likely be putting in more work on recording the secret project. Thus far though, I've mainly been decompressing, playing more Pokémon, as well as finally starting up Ratchet : Deadlocked. As far as site updates, I updated the Projects list now that MMNT is finished, and added six new images to the fan art gallery. As ever, my thanks to my viewers for continuing to enjoy my work, and my thanks to the artists who send in new work to be enjoyed. 06/25/2011 - Meow? Meow meow meow. Meow meow, meow meow meow. Meow meow meow. Meow meow, meow meow meow. Meow meow, meow. Translation from kittyspeak : As announced on my channel, video work is currently on hold due to caring for my family's calico, Coleco, who is currently recovering in my room after being fixed. She's doing just fine, getting plenty of rest and attention whenever she wants it. She is an adorable little bundle of kitty affection. My mum decided to get me a game as thanks for my taking care of the cat for her, so I have a copy of Dead Rising 2 heading my way. I quite enjoyed Case Zero after playing that, and am looking forward to more combo weapon craziness. 7 new images have been added to the Fan Art gallery. As always, my thanks to those who sent in new work. So Coleco is going to have to be in my room until next Saturday, meaning that hopefully, next weekend I can start recording Metroid. See you then! 06/28/2011 - Well, that's just great. As some have likely noticed, my Coppermine galleries, where I host both my personal gallery and the Fan Art gallery, seems to have exploded with errors. I didn't change anything, so I have no idea what went wrong. I've been trying to look up info on this, but nothing has proven helpful as of yet. The real pain in the tail is going to be, if I have to remake the old galleries, I have no idea how I'm going to go about that... The weird thing is, I can verify the art is all still there... somewhere... If I go on the forums and look at my art thread there, which links to a bunch of images I have in my personal gallery, they all still show up. EDIT : Err.... and somehow I seem to have fixed it without even trying much?.... Ooooookay, first time I've ever ACCIDENTALLY fixed something...
