Dragonsoft Studios Site History --------------------------------------------------- Site Version 2 - 10/08/2011 to 12/31/2011 --------------------------------------------------- ------------------ :: October 2011 :: ------------------ 10/08/2011 - Okay, so it's been one missed update, but thankfully, things seem to pretty much be back to normal. And being 4th Quarter of 2011, time to clear out the clog of updates! Okay, so over the course of the past two weeks, I finally seem to have gotten my computer back to normal. As it turns out, it was a driver issue, and one that a lot of people have experienced if searching on Google is any indication. I would like to once more give my thanks to komodafiredragon for helping me out, and also the kind people at Annoyances.org. I've also finally got my next project underway, Silent Hill 3 is officially in progress! As my favorite of the series, I've been looking forward to this one for a good while now. On the subject of games, thanks to the cash I got from my eBay auction, I have one coming soon that I'll be getting : Dead Rising 2 : Off The Record. I still even have a little cash left over, so I might browse the used games a bit when I go to pick it up. So hey, update time! - The Archives page has been updated with the past three months of updates. - The Projects page has been updated to acknowledge SH3 being underway. - The Library page has been updated with a few miscellaneous gifts from beedolphin. - 7 new images have been added to the Fan Art gallery. My thanks to everyone who sent in new work! 10/15/2011 - Fighting the YouTube uploaders has been a bit of a pain, but at least Silent Hill 3 is progressing fairly decently! In addition, I have a new game to enjoy, as today I got a copy of Dead Rising 2 : Off The Record. From everything I've seen, it looks like this will be hilariously over the top. Four new images have also been added to the Fan Art gallery, my thanks to those who sent them in! 10/22/2011 - So hey, it's been an interesting couple of days for my website. Yesterday, for a good chunk of the day, my site was inaccessible. This was later found out to be due to the host server being down for maintenance. They were upgrading their system. Upgrading... uh oh... So today they finished, and my site worked fine. Yay!.... except my art galleries exploded. Fighting with that for awhile, I found I had to upgrade Coppermine... which is now more complicated to operate. At least it works, but YEESH that was annoying o.o; On a more positive note, I seem to have found a workaround for a glitch on Off The Record. At the Paradise Platinum Screens, you can watch movies that grant you a PP bonus. The two last movies you can watch also give you extra rewards : the Flaming Skull Combo Card and the Psychopath Hair. However, these movies freeze the game when you watch them. However, going back to watch the earlier movies first seems to have made those ones work fine... I don't get it, but whatever! Eight new images have been added to the Fan Art gallery. My thanks to everyone who sent in new work! 10/29/2011 - Today has been... kind of a stressful day. As such I've fallen a bit behind in my recording schedule, meaning the next few SH3 vids are going to be a bit later than I had anticipated. I really don't know how much longer SH3 is going to last, I'm going to try to get it done as quickly as possible. Two new images have been added to the Fan Art gallery. My thanks to those who submitted new work. ------------------- :: November 2011 :: ------------------- 11/05/2011 - And so, Silent Hill 3 has come to a close. It's been quite a fun project to work on, and I'm glad my viewers have enjoyed it! Thanks to ZacEXE3, I've been pretty hooked lately on Batman : Arkham Asylum, so thank you for sending that! This has been added to the Library page, thus, as well as 15 new images in the Fan Art gallery. My thanks to all who sent in new work! 11/12/2011 - And so, Castlevania : Aria of Sorrow has begun! It feels rather nice to revisit this one, although starting a blank hard game is making things pretty tricky! At the point of recording I'm at now, I'm thinking some off camera grinding will be called for. In other gaming news, I've been playing a pinball game on the Xbox 360 lately. I find that, for me, pinball has no middle ground. It either goes extremely well or extremely horribly. But the achievement icons are so shiiiiiiiny~ Four new images have been sent in for the Fan Art gallery. My thanks to everyone who sent in new work! I would also like to thank beedolphin for sending in a copy of the original Ratchet & Clank, and NorthWoodsNightWolf for sending me a webcam. I'm not sure what I might want to use it for, but it's certainly an interesting bit of tech to play around with.  11/19/2011 - Achievement hunting! It's a thing sometimes! However, I almost have all the achievements I can get from Dead Rising 2 : Off The Record. The last one I need is "Six Digits??!," which means I have to kill 100,000 zombies... I've killed 40,000. This is going to take awhile... There are five co-op achievements, but alas, with HughesNet, I can't play online, so those remain out of my reach. Castlevania seems to be going well so far, I'm hoping to have it finished by the end of the month so I can take my usual end of year break, but we'll see how it goes. 11 new images have been added to the Fan Art gallery. My thanks to everyone who sent in new work! 11/26/2011 - A good bit of zombie hunting later, and I've gotten all the achievements I can get myself from all five Dead Rising games. I'm only missing five each from Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2 : Off The Record, and one from Case West, all of those involving online play. As for more project oriented things, Castlevania is going quite nicely. I'm pretty close to finished with that one. One new fan art image came in, my thanks for the new work! ------------------- :: December 2011 :: ------------------- 12/03/2011 - And thus, Castlevania : Aria of Sorrow has reached its end, and I'm officially on my end of year break. It's been quite a busy year, and I've had a lot of fun with the projects I've worked on over this time. I'll be getting back to making videos in 2012, starting with Imperishable Night. So hey, YouTube shenanigans! Yep, looks like they're rolling out a new design. The homepage is kind of cluttered, but I can deal with it. The part I hate is what they want to do to each user's main channel page. The new channel design is horrible. For now, it's blessedly optional, but I have the feeling that won't last. I do hope they make some serious, positive changes to the design before forcing it on everyone. The sheer lack of customizable features... Not good. Plus they have the nerve to call it an "upgrade." Egh. Two new fan art images came in. My thanks for the new work! And now, back to my break time. Pokémon aren't going to train themselves after all!... Though if that's true, why are there all those higher level wild Pokémon running around?... Hmm... 12/10/2011 - My break thus far has been nice and relaxing. I've mostly been playing games on the 360, earning achievements and having fun doing so. I also have my latest Pokémon team in training. Still fairly low level, but they're at the point where I can just work on levelling them up, any needed moves have been taught, aside from those they need to learn via level. Aside from that, I've also been working on portraits and base sprites for Mega Man Mythril, and thus have Origami Man, Met Man, and Fruit Man finished up. Just Bow Man and Glass Man remain... I still need to fully figure out a visual design for Glass Man... I have some ideas, but still need to piece it all together... Five new images have been added to the Fan Art gallery! My thanks to those who sent in new work.  12/17/2011 - Well, the Mega Man Mythril sprites I was in charge of are done. I'm quite happy with how they turned out. It will be interesting to see what comes of this project. Speaking of projects, I put in more work on the secret project, so that's still alive. 11 new images have been added to the Fan Art gallery. The Library has also been updated as it was pointed out to me that I forgot to remove Mega Man X 1-3 after the auction. This has now been corrected. 12/26/2011 - I hope everyone had a good Christmas! Mine was a bit bittersweet. The day started with my mum's aunt, the one she has been caretaking for for a few years now, passing away. A sad occurrence, but you have to find what bright spots you can in it. Her passing was peaceful, and the most important thing is that, due to my mum's care, she was able to live out her life in her own home, which was all she ever wanted. The rest of the day at least was nice, we gathered together, exchanged gifts, spent a good portion of the day together, and watched a triple feature of MST3K holiday features. First was Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, then Santa Claus (rather creepy, that one), and finally the RiffTrax feature, Santa Claus and the Ice Cream Bunny. Oof, that one was painful o.o;; As far as things I got for Christmas, I got some cool gaming themed clothing, including the Awkward Zombie "Sleeping Entei" shirt, I love that design XD. I also got a Newton's Cradle, I love little things like that. I also wish to thank ZacEXE3, who was generous enough to send me a Nintendo 3DS! I also got a couple of games for it from my family, as well as getting Portal 2 for the 360, so soon I shall have fun with science. I've lately been trying to wrap up the offline achievements on Beautiful Katamari. Those total play time achievements... whew o.o; 10 new images have been added to the fan art gallery. My thanks to all who sent in new work. I also updated the Library page with the new games I got. 12/31/2011 - Time for the last update of the year it seems! Happy New Year to everyone, and may 2012 be a good year for us all. So a bit of an update as to the state of things. My first project of the new year is going to be Imperishable Night, a 1CC Hard mode run. The problem? I've never managed this o.o; Since this all has to be recorded in one go basically, it may be a little while before I can actually get it ready to go. I did try recording it, made it up to Stage 4 before Reimu said "no." Another issue has been the passing of my great aunt. There have been various things such as family visitations, services, cleaning her house, figuring out what to do from here, etc. It's made things a bit hectic here, and not particularly conducive to recording. I promise, I'll get something recorded as soon as possible so I can get things uploading, it just may take a bit longer than expected. In the meantime, another project I have in mind for sometime down the road will be Perfect Runs of the new fan-made game Rokko Chan. I do wish there was a way to download it, but the Robot Master stages do feel pretty fun, so I will look forward to that one. As far as updates are concerned, 1 new image has been added to the Fan Art gallery. I have also updated the Library with three games that have either been sent to me or are on their way to me. From AdamantArchive, I received Realm of the Haunting. From Shagg, I got Skyrim, and from NorthWoodsNightWolf, Dynasty Warriors 5 : Empires. With that, hopefully Imperishable Night will be coming fairly soon. Wish me luck amongst the bullets!
