Dragonsoft Studios Site History --------------------------------------------------- Site Version 2 - 01/21/2016 to 12/28/2016 --------------------------------------------------- ------------------ :: January 2016 :: ------------------ 01/21/2016 - Out with the old, in with the new! A new year, and a fresh start to the main page as the old updates have been swept off into the Archives. Meanwhile, I've been continuing work on Battle Network 4, though the ProtoMan scenario is being more of an issue than I anticipated. I am working on it though, and hope to have it done soon, and then we can at long last get to the true postgame stuff. As far as personal gaming stuff, I find myself mostly waiting for the Wii U to get the Afterbirth expansion for Binding of Isaac, and am getting back into training more Pokémon. Currently have a new team ready to go, and am working on getting them all Amie'd up. Also recently, I decided to at least try downloading Mega Man : Super Fighting Robot. To my surprise, it actually does work! I had feared it wouldn't, as the beta version I was invited to test didn't run at all, and we mutually assumed it was an issue with my system, and no more was said. With the game working though, that's likely to be a future project. With that, onward to updates! - The Patreon page has been updated with all new backers. As ever, my most heartfelt thanks for your continued support, and I hope to give everyone a more productive year for projects. - The Projects page has been updated with the inclusion of Super Fighting Robot as a future project in the "consideration" category. The main reason it's there instead of "definite" is I haven't decided yet if I want it to be blind, or if I just want to enjoy my first time through the game on my own. - The Library has been updated with two new amiibos, Shovel Knight and the reservation of Lucas, which I'll be picking up at the end of the week. Also added, a copy of Dead Island courtesy of Beedolphin, a few various free to play games on the 3DS that I had forgotten to add that I had, and a rather adorable Pikachu plushie wearing a Mega Charizard Y costume, as sent to me by Arkreaver! - The Archives have been updated with a list of all of last year's site updates. ------------------- :: February 2016 :: ------------------- 02/26/2016 - The burnout is real o.o; So as viewers of my channel know, Battle Network 4 has been going on for quite awhile. I still fully intend to finish it, but I needed a break from it, so I am currently working on and uploading a blind run of the Mega Man fangame Super Fighting Robot. It's been quite a fun game thus far, very enjoyable, and a nice break from BN4. Also, the durgon is officially one year older. Up to 35 now, ancient durgon is ancient. For my birthday, I got a couple of games, a new amiibo for the collection, a new keyboard and a nice dragon t-shirt. Next month is going to be nice, as I have a few game reservations that should be headed my way. I'll be looking forward to playing the HD release of Twilight Princess, Hyrule Warriors Legends, and I actually did manage to get the Collector's Edition of Mega Man Legacy Collection ordered online, so that should be headed my way pretty soon. So on to updates! - The Library page has been updated with some games I got either for my birthday, or have reserved and coming soon : Chibi-Robo Zip Lash, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, Legend of Zelda : Twilight Princess HD, Hyrule Warriors Legends, and Mega Man Legacy Collection. Also a few incoming amiibos have been added : Chibi-Robo, Mega Man (Gold), Wolf Link, Roy, and Ryu. - The Fan Art page has been updated with 2 new images! My thanks to those who sent in new work! - The Patreon page has been updated with all new supporters. My thanks for your continued support of me and my work! ---------------- :: March 2016 :: ---------------- 03/25/2016 - ::continues to have the title theme from the old Ruby Spears Mega Man cartoon stuck in my head:: So March has been a month of lots of packages coming in, most things that were either things I had ordered myself, or that were set to arrive as late birthday gifts. Quite a few additions to the library as such. A couple of games arrived with the bonus of a couple of new amiibos. I got Mega Man Legacy Collection for the 3DS, and Twilight Princess HD for the Wii U, and thus, got the Gold Mega Man and Wolf Link amiibos. I also got three more for the Smash collection, Famicom ROB, Roy, and Ryu. Tomorrow, I shall be heading out to Gamestop to pick up Hyrule Warriors Legends, so there's that, too. And then, there was the sudden surprise package... A good friend sent me a PS3 o.o; That one was pretty unexpected and surprising, but I now have a PS3. No games for it quite yet, though it's not exactly a problem as it's an older model PS3, the type where they remembered "Hey, backwards compatibility is probably a good thing to include." So my most sincere thanks to Beedolphin for the awesome donation, I greatly appreciate it, and hey, depending on what happens, I might find some way to put it to good use for the channel. On the channel side of things, the Super Fighting Robot project seems to be going pretty well. I will however ask for a slight, VERY slight spoiler here. For my next recording session, I have the new bonus bosses to go through and such, but that leaves the one final one I need to unlock. I know to do so, I have to at least beat Wily on Insane difficulty. Now here's the question : is there anything particularly unique to Insane difficulty that would be worth recording and showing my first reactions to? I've heard maybe the bosses have new attacks, are they unique enough to warrant at least fighting them on camera again? PLEASE do not tell me any details of the new attacks, just if you think they're worth showing on camera. Feel free to let me know over on Tumblr. And now, updates! - The Projects list has been updated, with SFR being moved off the "potential" list and into the definite. Or at least the current. - The Library has been updated with the new games, amiibos, and the PS3 from Beedolphin. Thank you again for the awesome surprise! - The Patreon page has been updated with all new backers. My thanks for your continued support! ---------------- :: April 2016 :: ---------------- 04/22/2016 - Time is a strange thing, and April has moved far faster than it feels like it should have o.o;; It hasn't helped that most of April has been busy with last minute tax preparations with my mum. Pretty stressful all around, but at least that's all done now o.o; Meanwhile, we're still working on Super Fighting Robot's Insane difficulty bosses. However, it's nearing completion. Basically I just need to get good fights recorded against Dr. Wily, Shovel Knight, and Red Mage, and then we can set about unlocking the final boss. I'll be looking forward to this last little surprise. Anyway, site updates time yo! - The Fan Art Gallery has been updated with three new pieces! My thanks to all who sent in new work! - The Library has been updated with a few new amiibos and a couple of new Sly Cooper games I was given for the new PS3. I also tidied up the amiibo listings a bit, with some characters getting multiple amiibos in different sets, I decided to subdivide the amiibo list accordingly into major sets. 04/24/2016 - Two updates in one month? WHAT MADNESS IS THIS?!! Well actually just a couple of quick addendums to the Library that I had forgotten, and a new Poll! - The Poll page has a new survey to provide feedback for PokemonMarioSonic1, who created a Robot Master favorites sorter! Go check out the sorter at http://megamanrobotmastersorter.tumblr.com/, and leave him some feedback with the poll! - The Library page has been updated due to having forgotten to add Mini Mario and Friends amiibo Challenge, as well as my friend Beedolphin having sent me a copy of Animal Crossing : New Leaf. -------------- :: May 2016 :: -------------- 05/25/2016 - Another of those where the month kinda got away from me, but still doing my best to keep on top of things. For starters, I talked about this over on my Tumblr, but just to say it here, the inactivity lately has been due to one of my bouts of on and off depression. I at least feel like it is on the way out, I've been busying myself with smaller off camera work, things like getting this update together, doing some art assets for the eventual amiibo project (still keeping the art under wraps though until the project, I feel like it'll be a more fun surprise that way), and also was playing some games with people over on Tumblr, phrasing things like game and song titles in other words and getting people to guess what they are. I have way too much fun with things like that. As far as actual video stuff, I'm back to focusing on Battle Network 4 now that Super Fighting Robot is done. That was a super fun game, and if you haven't tried it out, I highly recommend it. I'm hoping to get solidly back into recording mode soon and get BN4 done before too much longer, I'm eager to get onto other things. For now though, updates! - The recent Poll has been closed. Seems like the majority want to see all the missing robots added to the RM Sorter! - The Projects list has been tweaked a little to show BN4 is back in the forefront, Super Fighting Robot is done, and I also marked Shattered Memories as "in progress." Still not entirely sure what I'm going to do as far as Downpour is concerned, for now I'll leave it in definite, but I'm not entirely sure... Might want to do Resident Evil 1 as a change of pace this year anyway. - The Library page has been lightly tweaked, I updated the Splatoon amiibos I have to show that they're the original color ones. Also added the donation of Megaman Star Force Complete Works thanks to beedolphin! - The Patreon page has been updated with all new supporters. My thanks for your continued support! - The Fan Art gallery has been updated with two new pieces. My thanks for the nice artwork! --------------- :: June 2016 :: --------------- 06/23/2016 - A new season of BattleBots and some tasty lasagna. It's been a good evening. So we just had E3, and I'll admit, most of what interested me is stuff I knew I was already interested in, namely the new Zelda game and Pokemon Sun and Moon versions. Nintendo did have an indie title that piqued my interest though, Severed. When I saw it, I immediately recognized the art style. It's done by the same studio that did Guacamelee, and if it's anything like that, I really, REALLY want to know more, that was a really fun game. I admittedly wasn't paying much attention outside of Nintendo's info, kind of comes of not having an XBox One or a PS4, I just don't really have as much reason to follow those shows. However, given enjoyment of their respective series, there were two titles that I at least looked into. First was Resident Evil 7, which after watching both the trailer and the playable teaser, I'm... confused? Why do we have ghost sightings? That's... not Resident Evil... I'll be interested to see what the final product is like, but that does make me worry if this is going to be one of those instances where I'll wish a game was allowed to be its own new IP rather than being shoehorned into an existing one. I mean, don't get me wrong, it looks like it could be an interesting game, it just doesn't really look like what you'd expect a Resident Evil game to be... Then there was Dead Rising 4, which.... also confuses me. Mainly in the sense that it looks like we're back at the Willamette Mall despite the town of Willamette basically being nuked off the face of the planet after the first game. It does still look like fun, over the top zombie killing action though, so I'm all for that, and hey, Frank West returning is always a good time. Of course, while not related to E3, there was a new game that was just released, and so thoughts on Mighty No. 9. Overall, I still can't say I feel any enthusiasm for it, but a lot of the trainwreck of the release kinda made it worse to me. It also made me a bit hesitant to even get the demo, as there were some reports of the Wii U version bricking the system, and that's the most likely version I could have gotten (I can't use Steam on my system, and the 360 version was delayed). Maybe I'll get the 360 version demo when it's released, but... I can't say how much I trust it... So all that aside, updates! - The Library has been updated with a few new amiibos, as well as bwhitey1120's donation of Legend of Zelda : Phantom Hourglass. I also managed to get WarioWare Touched thanks to the My Nintendo program, so yay for that. - The Fan Art gallery has been updated with 8 new images. My thanks to everyone who sent in new work! --------------- :: July 2016 :: --------------- 07/22/2016 - At long last, the beast that is Battle Network 4 is DONE!!! It feels so great to be done with that project, that was a thing and a half o.o; It's definitely going to be awhile before I do another BN project, I need to do some other stuff for awhile. Next major project that will be hitting the channel will be Metroid II : Return of Samus. I've had some questions on this one, I'll be playing the original GB version, not the fan remake. I might cover that at some point, but I want to go with the actual game to present the most authentic experience. I'm currently sort of half-and-half decompressing from the BN4 project and looking up maps and info on Metroid II to refamiliarize myself with that one. It's been quite a long time since I've toured SR388. I do have art assets ready to go thanks to the always appreciated help of Neo, and I'm definitely looking forward to getting this project started up. For now though, updates time! : - The Projects list has been updated with the completion of Battle Network 4 and the quick look at Rockman.EXE 4.5 Real Operation. Also added Mighty No. 9 to the projects I probably won't do, as I have been getting a lot of questions on that one lately. It's just not a game I really feel any particular excitement for unfortunately. - The Library has been updated with three new Animal Crossing amiibos, as well as Animal Crossing amiibo Festival. My thanks to beedolphin for the donation of the Tom Nook amiibo! - The Fan Art page has been updated with 10 new images. My thanks to those who sent in new work! - The Gallery has been... well, not really updated, but as it was pointed out that my Mega Man Powered Up Outtakes Cards were no longer viewable due to changes in Coppermine's formats. I thus reuploaded the cards to the Video Stuff folder in PNG format, so now they should be viewable. - The Patreon page has been updated with all new backers. My thanks for your continued support of my work! ----------------- :: August 2016 :: ----------------- 08/27/2016 - Another project done as we've finished up Metroid II : Return of Samus. Rather a fun one to go through, it was fun revisiting this game. Looking forward to starting up our next durgon-based outing as we start up Spyro 2 : Ripto's Rage. This is one of those years where it feels like time has just been flying o.o; Maybe it's a byproduct of how long BN4 was taking, but I don't feel like it should already be almost September o.o;; At least it does mean some fun stuff to look forward to, such as a new October project, and Pokémon Sun and Moon coming in November, which thanks to gift cards, I managed to get reserved. For now though, it's update time! - The Projects list has been updated with the completion of Metroid II : Return of Samus, as well as the upcoming LP of Spyro 2 : Ripto's Rage. - The Library page has been updated with my reservations of the new Pokémon games, as well as a few additions to the amiibo collection. - Two new Polls are up and ready for voting! Make your opinions known! Which was your favorite pallet from the Metroid II project, and which protagonist should I play as first in Resident Evil? - The Fan Art gallery has been updated with two new pieces. My thanks to those who sent in new work! - The Patreon page has been updated with all new supporters. My thanks for your continued interest and support of my work! -------------------- :: September 2016 :: -------------------- 09/25/2016 - Oof, one of those periods where things feel like they're stressing me out more than they really should be. It's been leaving me feeling pretty wiped as of late. One of those things where I wish I could take a real vacation and just get away from things for a bit, escape all the stress and drama for a bit. Such is the life of a busy durgon. If nothing else, I'm enjoying working on Spyro 2, and I think Resident Evil is going to be fun as well. And hey, getting closer and closer to Sun and Moon being released, definitely looking forward to those. I've been thinking a bit about what to do for the rest of the year. I'm tentatively hopeful that I can take December off this year on my own terms, and maybe use it to do more research on Silent Hill : Shattered Memories. Also during December, I plan to run another Let's Vote poll to decide the order on some new projects I want to work on. But then, that's an issue to tackle in a couple of months. For now, site update time yo : - The Projects list has been updated with Spyro 2 as the current project. - The Library has been updated with a few new games and amiibos I've managed to get my claws on. - The Polls page has updated with the results of the last two polls. Looks like people like Mega Man colors and Masters of Unlocking.  - The Fan Art page has been updated with 5 new pieces. My thanks to everyone who sent in new work! - The Patreon page has been updated with all new backers. My thanks to everyone for your continued support! ------------------ :: October 2016 :: ------------------ 10/27/2016 - So yeah, time is a thing. This month has seemed to go by ridiculously fast. Like seriously, I woke up and suddenly realized it was almost over. What is time, why is time, aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh. All that being said, Resident Evil has been making some good progress on the channel, though I did get a later start than I would have liked. Still, having fun with the project, and it's making some good headway, we're getting close to the end of Jill's run. I might have to shuffle some things around a bit, but I'm still hoping to at least get both Resident Evil and Spyro 2 done by the end of the year. Things have just been a big ball of stress as of late. Anyway, updates time! - The Projects list has been updated for our trip into Raccoon City. - The Library has been updated with the addition of the Timmy & Tommy amiibo. Thank you beedolphin! - The Fan Art gallery has been updated with three new pics. My thanks to the artists who sent them in! - The Patreon page has been updated with all new backers. My thanks for your continued support! ------------------- :: November 2016 :: ------------------- 11/28/2016 - Oof. Between all the turkey and all the Alolan luaus and all that, the month has gotten away from me. So yeah, I've been pretty heavily into Pokémon Moon the past week or so. Honestly, I've needed the break. I talked about this in a recent vid, I think I've been feeling just some general burnout due to how long it's been since I've really had an extended break of my own choosing. I am hoping to resume work on Spyro 2 soon though, though the Hunter minigame at Magma Cone is still a thing to be sure. Summing up the basic idea from the video, I hope to get both Spyro 2 and Resident Evil completely finished, then I'm going to take a full month off whenever those two projects are done. Hopefully that will help me relax a bit, because yeah, tired durgon o.o;; Anyways, site updates yo : - The Projects page has been updated with, uh.... whichever project is currently going. Probably Spyro 2 mainly ^_^; - The Library has been updated with a trio of new Resident Evil games I got for the 360, actual ownership of Pokémon Sun and Moon, and getting a Green Yarn Yoshi amiibo. - The Fan Art page has been updated with 13 new images. My thanks to everyone who sent in new fan art! - The Patreon page has been updated with all new backers. My thanks for your continued support! ------------------- :: December 2016 :: ------------------- 12/28/2016 - I hope everyone had a fun and enjoyable holiday season out there! Things on my end have been super busy, my apologies for delays on videos, basically just the way of the holiday season. The OTHER reason I tend to try to aim for taking December off, there's a lot of decorating and holiday preparations around here, but I have been trying to get the next Spyro 2 vid ready. Unfortunately, the Gulp fight can be tricky, especially since I HAVE to do it no damage for a Skill Point. So for those wondering, my Christmas haul was as follows : Mario Kart 8 Reservation for Legend of Zelda : Breath of the Wild Mario Party 10 + Mario amiibo Luigi, Waluigi, Daisy, Wind Waker Toon Link, Toon Zelda, and 8-Bit Link amiibos The remaining seasons of Cheers I was missing on DVD A Laurel & Hardy DVD collection A set of Five Nights at Freddy's plushes A plush dragon eating a taco (yes seriously, it's amazing) 2 Nintendo eShop cards 1 PSN card 50 flavor assortment of Jelly Belly jelly beans Beyond that, just having some nice quality time with my family was very needed and very enjoyable. I've been playing a lot of Mario Kart, it's interesting being so into a Mario Kart game again, I haven't really played one that solidly since 64. Alas, I can't play online, but I'm enjoying the single player enough, mostly racing as Lemmy. And so, site updates time : - The Library has been updated with the new games and amiibos I got for Christmas. - The Fan Art gallery has been updated with 13 new pieces. My thanks to everyone who sent in fan art! - The Patreon page has been updated with all new backers. My sincere thanks for your continued support!
