Dragonsoft Studios Site History --------------------------------------------------- Site Version 2 - 01/31/2019 to 12/31/2019 --------------------------------------------------- ------------------ :: January 2019 :: ------------------ 01/31/2019 - Hello and welcome to 2019, yo. 2018 was quite a year. It's sort of a thing with me that I make sure to read over the updates from the last year as I archive them away. Reading back over the events of last year, wow, just remembering all the things that happened. A bit somber from re-reading about the loss of my step-uncle, remembering the frustrations of my net being down, legal issues with heirship, and one of Groose's fans going out, and oh so fun dental issues... Please, 2019, be better than that o.o;; Meanwhile on the channel, one project ends and another soon begins. It feels good to have gotten Cuphead finished up, it was a super fun project to work on, and I'm so looking forward to the DLC. But soon, it's off to beautiful pixelated Kanto for Pokémon Yellow No Evolutions. Hopefully that will be enjoyable as well. Smash Ultimate meanwhile, I'm stuck with the paranoia of not wanting to play it until Nintendo addresses the issues that I've been hearing about where, after the recent update, people have reported losing their save files. Here's hoping they patch it and soon. So updates time : - Last year's updates have been compiled and placed in the Archive. - The Library has been updated with a few eShop games I got on the Switch. - The Projects page has been updated with the completion of Cuphead, and the upcoming Pokémon project. - The Fan Art gallery has been updated with 16 new images. My thanks for the art, it is greatly appreciated! - The Patreon page has been updated with all the new backers and supporters. I am eternally grateful for your continued support, and hope to keep making new projects for everyone's enjoyment. ------------------- :: February 2019 :: ------------------- 02/28/2019 - Older durgon is older. Rawr. Durgon is 38 now, had a fairly nice birthday with homemade pizza, and some nice gifts, some eShop funds for Nintendo, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, WarioWare Gold, and a DVD set of Northern Exposure. So February around here has been a bit of a thing. A super wet, rainy, muddy, messy thing. With sickness going around the house that I thankfully haven't caught. But can my luck hold out?! We shall see. At the moment, we're also kind of hoping one of my mum's cats gets better. He's always had problems, my mum originally finding him when he was having a seizure. A few days ago, he had a stroke, and now seems to be having trouble with his back legs. My mum's currently just feeing him with a dropper, and we're kind of in "hope for the best, prepare for the worst" mode. ...Yeah, February has been a thing. On a more positive note? Fire bunny. Heck yes. Totally know my next Pokemon starter. And now, updates : - The Projects page has been updated, clarifying a few things in the "unlikely projects" area. - The Library has been updated with some new Smash amiibos having arrived as well as a few more being reserved, as well as getting WarioWare Gold, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Wargroove. - The Fan Art gallery has been updated with 11 new images. My thanks to all the artists who have sent in their work! - The Patreon page has been updated with all new backers. My eternal thanks for your continued support! ---------------- :: March 2019 :: ---------------- 03/31/2019 - Whew, end of March always gets super busy for me. It means making sure to do my end-of-the-month site maintenance, my mum's birthday (yay!), and getting the year's Gag Reel video together. But hey, I think I'm actually on top of everything, heck yeah productivity! Pokémon Yellow has been going pretty well overall I think, it's been quite enjoyable working on it. A lot of free time has also gone into Baba Is You, thanks to Kit donating it to me. I highly recommend this one as long as you're willing to melt your brain for a bit. Other than that, it's been a largely peaceful month, and I'm all for that. So time for updates! - The Library has been updated with several new games, mostly eShop games. Thanks to Kit I got Baba Is You and Wizard of Legend. I also preloaded Cuphead, and got Flinthook. Also, Beedolphin got me Luigi's Mansion for the 3DS. My sincere thanks for all the donations! - The Fan Art gallery has been updated with 13 new works. My thanks for the fun new artwork! - The Patreon page has been updated with all new patrons. My eternal gratitude for your continued support! ---------------- :: April 2019 :: ---------------- 04/30/2019 - Today's been a rather distraction filled day. But hey, still got some stuff done, including a silly bit of Cookie Run art because the latest character was a robot :  It's been a rather busy month in a fun way as well, between getting Yoshi's Crafted World, Katamari Damacy REROLL, and Joker getting added to Smash Ultimate. I also started a Backloggery, though I only have my Switch titles on there currently. I'll likely add the rest of my games there eventually, but if you want to take a peek and see how things are going currently : https://backloggery.com/RoahmMythril For now though, it's site updates time yo. - The Library has been updated with my acquisitions of Yoshi's Crafted World and Katamari Damacy REROLL, as well as the Switch version of Cuphead going live. The amiibo collection has also been updated with my Daisy, Ken, and Young Link figures arriving, and my reserving the Isabelle, Pichu, and Pokémon Trainer figures. And finally, my thanks to Jon Causith for sending me a cool Metool themed shirt from Yetee! - The Fan Art gallery has been updated with 15 new pictures. My thanks to the artists! - The Patreon page has been updated with all new backers. My eternal thanks for your continued support! -------------- :: May 2019 :: -------------- 05/31/2019 - Not naming any names here, but someone might have kinda forgot it was the last of the month. Whoops. So this has been a difficult month. For those that missed the update videos, my mum had to go to the hospital after collapsing from pain in her leg. It turned out to be a blood clot, which thankfully was caught early and she's been put on blood thinners, but while staying overnight for observation, they did some scans that showed possible cancerous growths on her lung and liver. Going through this again after losing my aunt and step-uncle, it's been very difficult, so I'm doing everything I can to be there for her and such. We're just kind of in "hope for the best, prepare for the worst" mode right now. It's obviously slowed things on my channel while I process all this, but I am off and on at least working on level grinding Pokémon for the next video. It is a slow process regardless, but I am working on it. Thankfully my mum has some painkillers now, they've been helping a good bit. Her oncologist appointment is on June 5th, so hopefully we'll get some good news. We'll just have to see. All that said, it's time for updates : - The Library has been updated with a few eShop titles I got on Switch : Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition, Picross S3, and Castlevania Anniversary Collection. - The Fan Art page has been updated with 3 new works. My thanks to Jon Causith and Daniel the Durgon. - The Patreon page has been updated with all new backers. My eternal thanks for your continued support. --------------- :: June 2019 :: --------------- 06/30/2019 - Unfortunately, things haven't gotten any easier this month. On the night of Tuesday the 25th, my mum passed away. I posted a video going over the details of what happened. Things are thus difficult right now as we try to pick up the pieces and just go a day at a time, figuring out where to go from here. The service will be on Monday the 8th, so right now we're largely just preparing for that. It's hard, knowing she's gone, but I'm glad at least she didn't suffer long and is free of the pain she'd been in. I owe so much to her, she did her best to raise me to be a good person, so I strive to live up to that. Really, this is the majority of news as to what's been going on, so it's all been covered pretty solidly. However, I do want to extend my most sincere thanks to those who, after watching the video, joined as new patrons, donated via PayPal, or just in general sent their condolences and well wishes. It is all very much appreciated. I do also want to put a word here for those who donated via Patreon, if you're concerned by your names not being added yet to the backers page, I generally do that at the end of the month after the first pledge. It's just easier for me to look at the manager there afterwards. Though as many as there were that joined this time, I might do a special quick update at the start of the month to express my sincere thanks for everyone's generosity. That pretty much covers things, the only real update for the site itself this time is I added some new games I got for the Switch to the Library page, as well as some newly reserved amiibos. It's... a bit of a small, haphazard update, but then, it's been a weird and unpleasant month I'm afraid. Hopefully better times ahead.  --------------- :: July 2019 :: --------------- 07/31/2019 - It's been a long month. Mostly it's still been working on getting past the loss of my mum, which for the most part, I'm at least feeling better on that front. It's of course something that will just always be there in my mind, but things will get easier with time. A lot kind of came back to the forefront due to attending the memorial service, so of course, that just brings it all back. Meanwhile, just as I was about to try doing a bit of recording, I caught a cold from my uncle. Still a bit of sick haze / bleh, so sorry for the late updates. I've mostly been just gaming for my own enjoyment to try to relax, a few new entries in my library. Mostly I've been playing Diablo III lately, though I did just play some more Smash Ultimate now that the Hero has been added. With the slow nature of the month, there's not really too much else to update here, at least in personal life stuff, so let's get on with the actual site updates : - The Library has been updated with a few games I got for the Switch : Diablo III, Tangrams Deluxe, One Piece Pirate Warriors 3, a couple of Resident Evil games, and reservations for Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Link's Awakening. Also my Pokémon Trainer, Pichu, and Isabelle amiibos arrived. - The Fan Art gallery has been updated with 2 new pieces. If anyone else sent something that I forgot, please contact me, I feel like I may have forgotten something due to the events of the past couple of months, my apologies if so. - The Patreon page has been updated with all new backers. My most sincere thanks for everyone for supporting me during difficult times. ----------------- :: August 2019 :: ----------------- 08/31/2019 - Stress does love to follow me. I thought I was clear for the year since I wasn't called back the day after my usual checkup to get my meds refilled. I then got called back over a week AFTER my appointment, on Friday morning before I was awake, and they close early on Fridays. And aren't open on weekends. So I have to stress and worry about what they want me to call them about until Monday. Yay timing! Fun! That aside, it's been good to get back to work. It's taking a bit due to everything going on, but the Pokémon Yellow project is almost done, basically just Cerulean Cave left to go, and then it'll be time to gear up for VVVVVV. Other than that, Kit got me hooked on Diablo III, so that's been fun. Also have a couple of games coming in this next month that I'm looking forward to, so it's at least not all stress and bleh. So anyway, updates! - The Library has been updated with a few new Switch games I got, thanks to some sales. - The Fan Art gallery has been updated with 24 new pics. My thanks to the fan artists! - The Patreon page has been updated with all new backers. My most sincere thanks for your continued support! ------------------- :: September 2019 :: -------------------- 09/30/2019 - Ever have one of those weeks where you make plans to get a lot of productive things done, and then everything goes wrong? Yeaaaah, that's been my week. Household worries and concerns, stressful frustrations, and even light self-injuries. It's been a fun time. I'm trying to get things back on track though and at least get some of the things I'd planned taken care of today and / or tomorrow. This would include attempting to work on testing my capture card and practicing VVVVVV. Busy durgon is busy. I'm still kind of adjusting to life as it is these days, still missing my mum, getting used to the new blood sugar medicine I'm on. It's not something I ever really discussed, as it's not something I really ever got a full straight answer on from my previous doctor, but my new doc has pretty much confirmed that I am type 2 diabetic. Thankfully the medicine seems to be doing what it's supposed to, and I don't really feel physically bad or anything, just something I need to be mindful of and all that. Hoo boy fun times. Anyway, updates! - The Library page has been updated with two games I'd had reserved arriving, as well as my purchase of Untitled Goose Game. HONK. A few amiibos also arrived, as well as a few new ones I reserved. Also shifted around a few wishlist games. - The Projects page has been updated with the completion of Pokémon Yellow, and the upcoming VVVVVV. - The Fan Art gallery has been updated with 8 new pieces by Jon Causith. My thanks for the art! ------------------ :: October 2019 :: ------------------ 10/31/2019 - Busy month has been busy, but hey, it's been productive. We finished the VVVVVV Let's Play, at least for now. I do likely plan to return to VVVVVV sometime later to do some custom stages, but for now, we're gearing up for Zelda II. On the personal front, a good part of this month has been a bit of a healing process. On my social media, I've discussed a situation of parting ways with a friend. This happening on top of everything else that's been going on, it's been rough, but it is what it is. There's been a lot of self-reflection, also talking with other friends, kinda comparing notes and such. Thankfully, I think I've hit a point of acceptance with the situation, hopefully we can both just go about our lives. I had hoped to do some sort of spoopy project this year, but unfortunately, it didn't quite work out. I haven't had time to practice Chris' Advanced Mode on Resident Evil, and still don't quite know how best to revive Shattered Memories. I had PLANNED to do an LP of the story mode of Diablo III, but unfortunately a controversial situation cropped up with Blizzard right around the time I was going to do so, so I wasn't quite sure how safe it would be to do so. Alas, so it goes sometimes. Aaaaanyway, updates! - The Library page has been updated with a few new games I got on eShop. - The Projects page has been updated with the completion of VVVVVV. - The Fan Art gallery has been updated with 5 new pieces. My thanks to the fan artists! - The Patreon page has been updated with all new backers. My most sincere thanks for your continued support! ------------------- :: November 2019 :: ------------------- 11/30/2019 - Welp. November ended up being kind of an impromptu.... not so much a month off as an off month. Hoo boy was it a thing. Now the first week or so wasn't so bad. I was just taking time off due to a design contest I had entered for a mobile game I enjoy, Cookie Run Ovenbreak. I had to design a costume for one of the characters. Sadly I didn't end up making the voting round, still hoping I at least placed within the 1,000 honorable mentions. No idea how many actually entered, but if I place that high, I at least get the jelly set I was really after. With that done though, that's when the real gong show began. Since my mum's funeral, we'd been trying to get her life insurance check in the bank. First we were given incomplete paperwork, then once we got the full paperwork done and turned in, they failed to mail us the check. We kept getting automated systems or "we'll get back to you in five business days" type replies. When we finally got ahold of them, they showed the check hadn't been cashed, despite claiming they sent it to us, so they voided that one, sent us a new one, and that one finally got here. So we go up to the bank. First step was getting my mum's name off the house account, and mine added. And we forgot the death certificate. There wasn't time to go home and get it before the lobby closed. So that one's on us. We come back with it the next day. Suddenly my ID, which I've never had an issue with, had a problem, and I needed to get a new one. Enter the dreaded DMV. So we get there, I tell them I need to get an ID, and I'm told I need my birth certificate. So we didn't have that on hand. Back home, try again next time. Back we come with it the next day. A three hour wait later, and we're finally seen. We get all the way to the end of the process, paperwork signed and everything.... and I'm then told I need proof of residency. Would have been nice had they told me that when they said I'd need my birth certificate... So we go home to regroup. We get a folder and cram it with every last shred of documentation we think could potentially be useful. We go up there the next morning, arriving ten minutes before the DMV opens, thinking we could avoid long wait times. Nope. There were already almost no parking spots, and a huge line waiting outside the door. Two hour wait, I get seen, everything's in order, new ID, we get to the bank, and all is finally taken care of. Things were also a bit somber with Thanksgiving going on, my first without my mum. Trouble is I know my first Christmas without her is going to be even worse just in missing her. So yeah... Trying to get things done, but it's been slow going. I do at least have the title cards for Zelda II almost done, just a small bit of work left to go on the intro card. I am kind of wanting to do these as "changing" cards, fun little differences and such, but once the "blank" is finished, the rest should be fairly minor. And now, updates : - The Library has been updated with a few bargain games I got on eShop, as well as the donation of Pokémon Sword. Thank you abreathofatmosphere! Also a few updates on the amiibo collection. - The Patreon page has been updated with all new backers. My eternal gratitude for your continued support, it truly means a lot to me. - The Fan Art gallery has been updated with 2 new pieces. My thanks to the fan artists, the new work is always nice to see. ------------------- :: December 2019 :: ------------------- 12/31/2019 - Happy New Year, and may 2020 not suck o.o; Everyone ready to take awhile to remember to write 2020 instead of 2019? I know I am! This year has been going hard on me right up until the end. Last unpleasant event of the year was the passing of my mum's old dog. He was dealing with essentially a form of dog cancer for some time, diagnosed even before my mum was diagnosed with her own cancer. The conflicting part is that, make no mistake, this dog and I did not get along. He was the one I'd mentioned attacking my hand back during MaGMML1, and his mood toward me and anyone else other than mum did not improve. We kept taking care of him as best we could in honor of my mum however, so I just hope we did right by her. We made the best out of Christmas that we could, it's no exaggeration to say mum was Christmas around here, but we still decorated the house, and had a small gift exchange. I ended up getting the two Pokémon Let's Go games, and a "Best Of" DVD of Beakman's World. All in all, it's been a busy month, which has left me feeling a bit drained, but I have been trying to at least work on more art assets for the Zelda II project. Over on Twitter, I asked for some ideas for more intro card items I could use to try to wake Zelda, and I got some great ideas to work with, so thank you all for that. With that though, updates! : - The Projects page has been updated with Zelda II officially underway. - The Library has been updated with the arrival of my Shovel Knight Treasure Trove amiibos, the Pokémon Let's Go games, and a couple of eShop titles I got : Keen Dreams and A Robot Named Fight! I also received an Amazon gift card from Jon Ramsten, very much appreciated! - The Fan Art page has been updated with 5 new pieces from Jon Causith. Just as a plug, go check out his YouTube channel for a behind the scenes video where he was working on some of the newly added art! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFih9OTSX7ginreWaPSjJsA
