How do I create my art?  I have tried many things.

I've drawn since a very early age, and in the process, I have tried many different media.  During my high school art classes, I had to use many different types for assignments.  Suffice it to say, I have learned that painting is not my forte.

My media of choice is colored pencil.  Specifically, I use Prismacolors.    I have used several different brands, including Crayola, Prang, and Rose Art, but have never gotten the results I get with Prismacolors.  They are somewhat on the pricey side, but well worth it.

As for paper, my choice there is simply multipurpose printing paper.  This isn't expensive at all.  My usual choice is Georgia Pacific Premium MultiPurpose Paper.  It's acid free, 8.5" x 11", and comes in packs of 500 sheets.

As for the tech parts of my work, there are two key items.  First there is my art program.  I use PhotoImpact.  It is made by Ulead, and came free with my old scanner.  On that subject, when I got my new computer, my old scanner no longer worked.  Thus, I had to get a new one.  My current scanner is an all-in-one device, the HP Deskjet F 4140.  It works quite nicely, though the printing capabilities aren't perfect due to the horizontal load tray.  It always tells me I don't have paper when I do, so that can be fairly annoying.  Still, it does what I need it to do.
